We are seeking a part-time Project Manager for our AI for Animals Coalition Group!
We will start the hiring round in June after our AI, Animals, and Digital Minds Conference/Retreat, which we encourage interested candidates to attend.

About the Role:
Part-time role with a compensation of $1,000 USD per month
Potential of transitioning to a full-time position by 2025
About the AI Coalition:
Meets for 1.5 hours every month to share updates and strategize with action items out of each meeting
Currently volunteer run
Private channel on the Impactful Animal Advocacy (IAA) Slack with 80+ members
Consists of individuals and groups who are highly motivated and well-positioned to to leverage AI to improve the lives of animals
Outputs of members have included research papers, lectures, workshops, nonprofits, news articles, websites, and an upcoming conference/retreat.
Responsibilities:
Create and send out a monthly AI and Animals newsletter
Facilitate monthly online meetings for members to share knowledge and strategize on positively influencing the AI domain for animals
Create meeting summaries
Create and maintain a tracking system for projects in the AI Coalition
Check in with members to monitor progress, address blockers, and optimize workflows
Make strategic introduction when it is noticed that members are doing similar or complementary work
Weekly check-ins with a manager
Qualifications:
High conscientiousness - able to anticipate contingencies and work independently with minimal management
Baseline knowledge of AI systems (nontechnical)
Excellent project management, people skills, and ability to create tracking systems
Fluent in English with clear written communication
Well-connected or aspiring to be well-networked in the animal advocacy movement
Proficiency with using Slack, Google Workspace, Google Groups, Asana, Airtable, and Luma
Why This Matters:
AI is set to transform the world, poised to be a defining technology, but is currently being shaped with minimal consideration for its impact on animal well-being. The foundations established in AI today could have profound implications for animals going forward. There is no other coalition that currently exists to represent the interests of animals when it comes to AI safety and ethics.
