This is a list of organizations that we are aware of who are actively using AI to help animals or otherwise working to make AI a positive force for animals.   • Earth Species Project is a non-profit dedicated to decoding non-human communication using AI.

  • GreenProtein.AI is a non-profit initiative working on optimizing the extrusion process of plant-based meat production using AI technology in order to enhance the quality, taste, and sustainability of plant-based meat​.

  • Interspecies Internet is a global think tank working to encourage the acceleration of Interspecies Communication through AI and Machine Learning.

  • New Harvest is a global non-profit building the field of cellular agriculture, who recently co-launched a research project focused on applications of Machine Learning in cellular agriculture.

  • New York University's “Mind, Ethics, and Policy Program" was set up to conduct pioneering research on the nature and intrinsic value of non-human minds, including those of animals and artificial intelligences.

  • NFPs.AI provides not-for-profit organisations with direct access to the latest AI knowledge and tools.

  • Project CETI is an international initiative focused on understanding the communication of sperm whales using AI.

  • Smarter Sorting is using AI to analyze existing toxicity data and extrapolate this to new products based on their ingredients, without the need for further animal testing.

  • Tech4Animals is a multi-disciplinary research team developing computational approaches for understanding animal behavior and promoting animal well-being.

  • VEG3 is an AI-powered tool specifically designed to help animal rights advocates be more impactful in their work.

  • Vegan Hacktivists are a global community of animal advocates offering their skills in building technology for the animal protection movement, and have co-run several webinars on using AI for animal advocacy.

  • Verisim Life is using AI to create digital simulations that can replace animal drug testing.
